New Clydesdale Colliery (NCC)

Location: Kriel

Capacity: 750tph

Client: Universal Coal

Modernising/Expansion: All DMS plants retrofitted with a 3-Product Cyclone and is operated by Ingwenya Mineral Processing.

NCC comprises of three coal processing plants; 300tph, 250tph and 150tph capacities. The plant produces for both export and locally, to Eskom and other local markets. Prior to Ingwenya operating the plant, the plants utilised normal cyclones to wash coal. To optimise the plant and increase capacity and flexibility, Ingwenya retrofitted all three modules with 3-Product Cyclones. This allows the plant to produce high-grade and low-grade coal in one plant. This is cost-saving as it eliminates the necessity to build a new plant to rewash the discard.

The plant can produce a maximum of 300 000 tons per month.
