NCC comprises of three coal processing plant; 300tph, 250tph and 150tph capacities. The plant produces for both export and to Eskom and other local markets. Prior to Ingwenya operating the plant, the plants utilised normal cyclones to wash coal. To optimise the plant and increase capacity and flexibility, Ingwenya retrofitted three Product Cyclones which allows for high-grade and low-grades to be produced in one plant. This is cost-saving as it eliminates the necessity to build a new plant to rewash the discard.

The plant can produce a maximum of 300 000 tons per month.
